Sadness in Serbia: The once -top ABA League scorer died (38)
The basketball and sports world in Serbia shook the tragic news. Former Serbian national team player Dragan Labovic (38) passed away from a heart attack at a hospital in Zemun.
Four days before the sudden death, he posted a poignant message on social networks in which he opened his soul about childhood traumas and the pressure he faced throughout his life.
Condolences of the family and the details of the funeral stated Serbian Basketball Federation.
– The funeral will be on Monday, May 12th at a turkey in a protuberance.
A professional career Labovic started in FMPand in 2009 he was the top scorer of the regional ABA League with an average of 18 points per game. Later played all over Europe for clubs such as Aris, Skyliners Frankfurt, Enisey and BC Nokia.
He ended his career in 2019, and after professional basketball, he faced private problems and struggle with mental health. He spoke openly about mental disabilities, but also to stay in a psychiatric institution where he was treated for aggressive behavior.
Will remain remembered as one of the best basketball players of their generation, with a national team Serbia and Montenegro won five gold medals on European Championships junior categories, as well as the MVP title at the U-18 Championship 2005.
