Saarland wants to work more intensively with Luxembourg
The Saarland has decided on a Luxembourg plan for more intensive cooperation with Luxembourg. The goals are: « Use synergies better, improve the quality of life of the people in the border area and define joint answers to challenges such as energy supply, shortage of skilled workers, mobility or climate change, » said the Saarland state government.
The focus is on ten areas. In this way, population protection is to be improved – with an agreement on the cooperation of the fire brigades and a common border alarm plan. There should also be closer cooperation in medical research as well as on the topics of cyber security and artificial intelligence.
More trainees to Luxembourg and more Luxembourg interns in Saar companies are sought as much as more exchanges between artists. An important cooperation remains the digital test field for autonomous driving in the border triangle between Germany, France and Luxembourg.

Networks and joint corporate projects are sought in economic, industrial and energy policy. In addition, a cross-border living space concept is to be coordinated in order to jointly develop solutions for affordable living space.
