Russians are actively spent on cleaning funds
Russian consumers are more expensive for household funds for cleaning the apartment. As a result, gradually independent cleaning at the cost becomes closer to professional cleaning services, to which the population begins to resort more and more often. This is due not only to increase in prices, but also with a general acceleration of the pace of life, when there is less and less time for household matters.
Russians are actively spent on cleaning funds. According to the analytical service of MoneyPlace, the average check for March 2025 on Wildberries increased by 26.6%, by Ozon – by 19%.
The most growing category was napkins and cleaning rags: the check grew by 66.3%, to 519 rubles, and by 27.7%, to 345 rubles, respectively.
The sites themselves also noted an increase in demand for cleaning goods. For March on Ozon, the demand for household chemistry increased by 61%, for accessories for cleaning – by 54%. Most often, OZON users ordered universal cleaning products, dishwasher products and washing dishes. Among the accessories, napkins for cleaning, brushes and garbage bags are leading, the press service of the marketplace noted. Residents of small cities order such goods even at an even higher pace – demand is growing three times faster than in the whole country.
Wildberries showed more growth for cleaning (+77% year for the year), household sponges (+60%) and clothes air conditioners (+57% year for the year). For 1% year, the sales of washing powders decreased by the year, the press service of the marketplace noted.
In classical retail, sales for cleaning products show steady growth.
According to the FIX Price, for March 2025, sales of glass washing products have increased in this category of goods – 49% of the year by the year, goods for cleaning pipes – by 29% of the year by the year. Sales of cleaning agents for plumbing have grown at a lower pace, showing an increase of 18% year by the year.
Russians are not only purchased by cleaning goods, but also more often resort to the services of professionals. According to the Avito service, in March 2025, the demand for general cleaning grew by 28% year by the year. In Moscow and St. Petersburg, it increased by 47% and 58%, respectively. The number of ads is also growing, but at a more moderate pace – at 7% of the year by the year. SWEEPME CEO, Maria Nagibova, notes that expenses on independent cleaning become more regular and tangible and are closer at the cost of professional services. The pace of life of the population is accelerating, which does not allow to allocate a large amount of time for household matters. This also entailed an increase in interest in goods, accelerating the cleaning process. In March 2025 alone, the sales of electric goods in this category grew to a turnover of 1.9 billion rubles, which is an increase of 70% year by the year. The average check increased slightly – by only 1% year by the year, up to 5.7 thousand rubles. Yandex Market noted the increase in demand for these goods by 1.2 times compared to last year. On Wildberries, the sales of household appliances for cleaning increased by 66%, and steam mins shown the greatest growth – by 190% a year by the year.
