Russia will examine the ceasefire proposal for 30 days – what is responding to West pressures

Russia’s intention to examine the demand for a ceasefire in Ukraine for 30 days was announced by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

As the Russian official pointed out, Moscow has its own position on the issue, stressing that it will not succumb to West’s pressure on the issue of war in Ukraine.

« We have to look at it, this is a new development, » Peskov said, speaking on the US television network CNN. « But, trying to push us, it is completely futile, » he added.

The « ultimatum » of the West

It is recalled that the major European forces supported the proposal for an unconditional 30 -day ceasefire in Ukraine, with the consent of US President Donald Trump and threatened Russia with « huge » new sanctions.

In particular, Ukraine and its main European allies, in consultation with the US, today called on Russia, calling on it to accept the « full and unconditional » ceasefire, 30 days, starting on Monday, May 12th.

The announcement was made during a visit to Kiev on Saturday by the leaders of French Emmanuel Macron, Germany Friedrich Mertz, Britain Kir Starmer and Poland Donald Tusk, who said they had secured the support of Donald.

The « answer » Peskov

Without responding directly to the proposal, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov regretted, speaking to reporters about the « conflicting » attitude of Europeans towards Russia. « We hear contradictory statements by Europe. According to the French president, about 20 countries of the « coalition of the willing » supporting Ukraine and today participated in a teleconference with the leaders who had gathered in Kiev, along with Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski, « decided to support the US, » Europeans. «

Zelenski and the four European leaders phoned Donald Trump to inform him of the outcome of their talks. In the photos released, the five presidents and prime ministers sit around a low table at the Ukrainian Presidential Palace and a cell phone is open in front of them. One of the officials present in the room said they used Macron’s mobile phone for this call.

The visit of the « four » to Kiev was also a symbolic response to the events organized by Russia in recent days for the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, with the presence of about 20 foreign leaders, including Chinese President Xi Jinning.

Russia’s request

Speaking to the American television network ABC, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that before the truce, weapon deliveries from West to Ukraine should be stopped.

The previous attempt
