According to the organization « Protection of Prisoners of Ukraine », more than half of civilians who have returned to Ukraine are convicted of criminal offenses not related to war.

At least 15 of them are prisoners who served their sentences in the occupied part of the Kherson and Mykolaiv regions.

About 50 more are citizens of Ukraine who lived in Russia and have been convicted in different years.

After serving the term, the Russian authorities had to deport them home, but instead kept in captivity in captivity in centers for foreigners who were illegally in Russia.

« In this exchange, the Russians used them unexpectedly for the Ukrainian authorities and for the prisoners themselves, » – said « Public ».

Literally « Public »: « The exchange participants told how the Russians offered them to participate in the war in exchange for dismissal and how they found themselves at home without any documents, money and a clear understanding of what to do next. »

The head of the organization « Protection of prisoners of Ukraine » Oleg Plesoviy explained that the Russians had transferred two categories of prisoners during the exchange.

The first is the convicts who served their sentences in the colonies of the Nikolaev and Kherson regions, which were occupied.

In November 2022, retreating, the Russians took away 1800 prisoners with them. Currently, only 380 people have returned to Ukraine. 15 convicted in this category were in the last exchange.

According to Tswil, 12 of them are examined. And three more did not leave the term completely and immediately after the exchange went to the pre -trial detention center.

The second category is the former prisoners who have served in Russia for various crimes and then stuck in deportation centers.

According to the calculations, at least 50 people are returned. The human rights activist believes that the authorities have treated them irresponsibly.

Literally « Public »: « The mold has admitted that this category of citizens is » not quite positive « , and society is more awaiting the return of prisoners of war, children or pro -Ukrainian figures. »

The direct language of the mold: « But, good people, it is also our citizens of Ukraine, and they did not take their arms and did not go to fight against Ukraine!

They were fastened who for two years, who – a year, kept their pro -Ukrainian position, did not go to their terms and waited when they were returned. We have to respect their decision.

We returned the Cossacks that will come in handy in any case. I am sure some of them will go to protect the country.

These people will definitely bring some benefits. So you do not need to disperse betrayal! These are living people, they are our citizens.

They have come back and hope that the rest will return. «
