Russia increases strength at the border with Finland. New photos were revealed
According to the New York Times, Moscow develops military facilities and strengthens the facilities at the Finnish border since Helsinki became part of the North Atlantic Alliance.
New facilities at the border with Finland and Estonia
According to the available information, the Russians raise more warehouses there and refresh the bases and hangars, which previously remained in poor condition.
In turn, according to the anonymous representative of NATO, Russia plans to concentrate numerous troops in the northern zones, recognizing access to the Arctic as an important element of recovering the powerful position. It is also indicated by the analysis of satellite photos that showed the return of Russian helicopters to the Murmansk region after twenty years of absence.
Attention is also drawn to the increased movement of Russian combat aircraft in the Olenja air base, located on the territory of the Arctic, located about 160 km from Finland.
The reinforcements also apply to facilities in Pietrozawodsk and Ałakurtti, where fresh buildings and military equipment were noticed. These places are located near Finland and at a distance of about 130 km from Estonia.
« We are five years old » – a Finnish interview with the threat from Russia
The head of the Finnish military intelligence, Pekka Turunen, predicts that in the coming years the number of Russian soldiers at the border will clearly increase.
Michael Kofman researcher Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in Washington emphasized, however, that plans to restructure military districts in Russia testify to the priority treatment of areas bordering with NATO countries.
Are Finns are afraid of their safety? They think they are about five years old before the Kremlin’s extensive forces become real danger.
