Russia accuses Europe of not contributing to peaceful solution in Ukraine
Russia has accused European countries on Tuesday to participate indirectly in the war against Russia by providing weapons to Ukraine. According to Kremlin, the position does not contribute to a peaceful solution of the conflict.
« We see that Europe is indirectly involved and that the supply of weapons (to Ukraine) of a wide variety of weapons and ammunition systems continues, » said the Kremlin spokesman.
For Russia, « it is an indirect participation in the war against Russia, » Denis Peskov said at the daily telephone press conference, quoted by the Spanish news agency Efe.
Peskov also criticized the statements of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on Monday that there is no limitation within the reach of Western weapons provided to Kiev. « Of course, this European behavior doesn’t help peaceful resolution at all, » he added.
The Kremlin spokesman also stated that the intensification of Ukrainian attacks with drones in Russian territory also does not facilitate the progress of the peace process.
The Russian Ministry of Defense has accused Ukraine of increasing the number of attacks on drones and rockets produced by the West against civil infrastructure in Russian territory since April 20.
Peskov also devalued recent criticism from US President Donald Trump to Russian homologist Vladimir Putin and said they will not affect the planned exchange of Russian American prisoners.
Given the intensification of attacks against Ukraine while trying to mediate a peace agreement, Trump said on Sunday that Putin « was completely crazy. » « Of course the Russian and American sides can’t agree with everything, » Peskov commented, quoted by the France-Presse (AFP) news agency.
