RTV's police for more than a month: Employees say they sometimes interfere with their work, the director of Demantuja – Society

The professional union of the public media institution of the Vojvodina Radio-Television (JMU RTV) and the Independence « Independence » JMU Dacic, which included the Call and the basis of the Serbian Ministry of the Interior to reside in the premises of the Provincial Public Service.

In the statement signed by the presidents of these unions, Mijaz Šivović and Darko Sper, was asked whether the safety of employees, and if so, from which they were endangered and why employees were not informed.

Unions are interested in which the legal basis of MP members can limit television studies and evaluating when some shows can or cannot be recorded.

According to Sper, the arrival of the police in RTV coincides with the incursion of the opposition to the city house, 17. January. The day after that, the police are constantly in a larger or less extent here.

– When we organize something, they are much more. When we had a protest, it was certainly more than fifty in full equipment for breaking demonstrations. They just appear in the study and order to empty. Then people working in production, performing that recording … they have to stop everything. The police then be there. We haven't received an explanation yet why they do it. Director Goran Karadzic told us that he could not affect it. The service of our security is also not in coordination with the police, so they do not know anything, « said Sper.

How does the police usually enter the studio when something happens in front of the building, do the workers limit « Diary« , Protest or some other demonstrations nearby, which is less than the case.

Communication with the police usually do not have, except when they betray them to leave some space.

– It was especially painful when we filmed another « free diary » and when one of these police officers went outside to film us. When one of my colleagues asked him why he did, he received the answer as there were enough years to realize the seriousness of the situation. When they enter the studio, the police be in front of the director otherwise locked. We don't know why, maybe as a preventive actual ones that someone would not make diversion and let something else in the program – he continued.

Cooperation with the police, adds, depends on man to man, because there is actually no protocol. If the police are in the Media Center, and the colleagues need to be a large number of guests who need to be prepared for the program, seeing them to go out, continues to go out.

– People employed in the technique are most angry because they do not know when the police can come and ask them to leave the studio after which they sit so and do nothing. I note that no problem was inside but even in front of the building so far, nor was any incident said – said Sper.

Director of RTV: No one has reason to feel threatened

According to today, Goran Karadzic is General of RTV, the fact that they are a special importance and that someone who deals with the security work decided that uniformed persons should be in the building.

– It's not a large number, two to four men, who never appeared in any broadcast or other premises and interrupted the program. They are discreetly seated in one room on the ground floor. He says that RTV had no requirements for the MUP to need additional protection, but were assessed by « people in the security state ».

However, he also considers that employees in this media house feel safe.

– There are more than 1,000 workers in our house and it is not possible to talk to everyone, but I don't think anyone can feel vulnerable if the Organs are staying in the building. They don't legitimize anyone, nor do they make anyone upset someone. If someone is taken because it just sees a uniformed face, then it is more on it to ask why it was so – the director continued.

It also points out that the program works normally and that the police forces were more numerous when something happened in front of RTV, but also that they were discreet.

As for the « free diary » that realizes part of employees who are dissatisfied with how RTV reports on what happens in Serbia, Karadzic says that « free people do what they want and there is nothing to add. »

It is uncomfortable to everyone

Criminal charges against the director

These two unions submitted a criminal complaint to the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Novi Sad against Karadzic for negligence.

– Legitiman is a request to look for shifts and mine and some editors. Different people look at things. Someone thinks someone should resign. In our house there are four unions, two have that type of activity, two not. In a democratic, we are also a free society and a shift request can be sought. If we are for the institutions to work work, and we are, then there are institutions that will decide on shifts and appointments. Everything is at this time in the function of the program, and it works well – Karadzic said.

He points out, that they raised the ratings of four, five times in some days, and it says that spectators are satisfied, and because of them, the program is made.

– At this point, we have VD editors in its places and the law does not limit the period of time as one can be in VD status. Since the viewing is growing, there is no need for some speed, about that then. When we estimate that it is necessary, we will also do that job, « Karadzic concluded.
