RS Assembly passed the Laws on the Prohibition of Work of the BiH institutions

The ruling majority approved the laws at a vote in Banja Luka with 49 votes for and three against, while most of the opposition MPs boycotted voting, RTRS regional television reported. Legal experts claim that the laws prohibiting the work of the Court and Prosecutor's Office of BiH, the High Judicial and Prosecutor's Council (VSTV) and the State Agency for Investigation and Protection (SIPA) in the territory of RS unconstitutional and that they could push Bosnia and Herzegovina into a serious political crisis, DPA reports.

Serbian leader in BiH Milorad Dodik said on the eve of the vote that this entity law was practically prevented from the work of state judicial and security institutions in the territory of Republika Srpska. According to him, this process has been preparing for years, and that the RS institutions have in the meantime have strengthened their capacities in that direction. « This is a favorable situation for Republika Srpska, because we return our subjectivity. I urge you to adopt this law without hesitation. The decisions of the National Assembly are clear – this is not a secession, but a return to the original Dayton and the protection of the Constitutional Order of BiH, » he said.

He added that he would not personally complain about the judgment of the Court of BiH, which was sentenced to one year in prison on Wednesday, and for six months of political action, since the National Assembly has already rejected the judgment.

Dodik was accused of deafening on the decision of the High International Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt. The verdict is not yet final.
