Royal Family in Mourning: Nicht van King Filip suddenly died

The Italian Domitilla, born on May 9, 1965 in Rome, was the daughter of Prince Antonello Ruffo di Calabria (1930-2017), the youngest brother of Queen Paola (87), who was only born seven years later, in 1937. Domitilla, who was therefore a full niece of our King Filip (65) on May 25, died on May 25. Two weeks earlier she celebrated her 60th birthday.

Last Thursday the funeral took place in the Bosco di Paliano, a 30 -hectare oak forest southwest of Rome that is publicly accessible. That location was not chosen by chance: it was Domitilla’s father Antonello who founded the first bird park in Italy as a frantic nature lover. Together with her sisters and brothers, Domitilla inherited the nature reserve.

Domitilla, who worked in the theater world, leaves three children behind, Filippo, Riccardo and Flavia. The latter has a close relationship with our country, since she lives in Brussels and works for the RTBF.
