Rotary clubs from Celje and Ljubljana to provide long -term support to reduce the effects of tragic fire in Kocani
Rotary Club Kocani-Vinica has signed a cooperation agreement with partner rotary clubs from Celje and Ljubljana in the Republic of Slovenia, thus providing long-term support to reduce the effects of the tragic fire at the Pulse Club and to normalize the situation in Kocani.
Representatives and members of the three clubs at the signing of the agreement said they would work together to provide financial, material, medical, expert, psychological and any other assistance in the next five -year period.
-Our Slovenian friends were among the first to reach out to help, an initiative to form a special foundation began, and with their support the entire complex project will not only focus in Slovenia, but also in other European Union countries. They offered cooperation in the education of expert staff, as well as material support in all areas necessary to repair the consequences of the fire. These are training of the fire department and health staff, joint activities for the Youth Center for Youth in Kocani, so that youth will not lose the creativity and hope for its future- said Zoran Todorov of the Rotary Club Kocani-Vinica.
Slovenian Rotarians stressed that they already have experience in supporting crisis situations, especially after major floods in their country two years ago.
-We were at the first line of help, although that disaster cannot be compared to yours, because there was only material damage to us, without sacrifices. With the agreement we have signed in the next five years we will be available to all the needs and depending on what help is needed, we are committed to covering it. We would not talk about numbers, but we are ready to provide material assistance to your hospital, your firefighters, psychological support, if some surgery is needed we will provide and send doctors specialists from Slovenia, Germany and other European countries. We will be with you, we will coordinate the needs twice a month so that we can respond quickly. Simply put, we are- said Franjo Rosman of the Rotary Club Celje, who will coordinate activities with other rotary clubs from Slovenia.
Rotary club support will also join reputable Slovenian companies, whose owners and managers are part of the Rotary Community.
-I just just said that we want to help you unconditionally, that we will stand on your side. Not only at this point and for short, but in the long run. It doesn’t matter at all that I am the director of a well-known company, here I am as a man who wants to help and thank you for giving us the opportunity to do so, said Thomas Tomsic- a representative of the Rotary Club Ljubljana.
In addition to the Rotary clubs from Celje and Ljubljana, a willingness to get involved in the initiative to help the citizens of Kocani has expressed other Slovenian clubs, which in the meantime have begun to be organized to provide the necessary support as soon as possible.
