Cristiano Ronaldo He announced on Monday the conclusion of the « Chapter » with the Al-Nassr team, in a message posted on social networks after the last stage of the Saudi Arabian football championship.
« This chapter is closed. The story? It is still written. Thank you to everyone, » wrote the Portuguese striker on his Instagram account, along with a photo with him wearing the RIAD club shirt. His contract with Al-Nassr ends this summer.
Ronaldo, 40, finished this season as a goalscorer of the Saudi League, with a total of 24 goals.
The announcement comes when the International Football Federation will open a special transfer window between June 1 and 10, to allow the 32 teams participating in the World Club Cup (June 14 – July 13 in the US) to recruit new players for this competition.
Cristiano Ronaldo signed a two-and-a-half year contract with Al-Nassr at the end of December 2022, after the World Cup in Qatar, becoming the first important football name that joined the Saudi League.
Last summer, the winning winner of the Golden Ball said he could end his career at Al-Nassr. « A team that makes me happy and I feel good, » explained the striker, who has evolved during his career at Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus Torino. Al-Nassr ended the season in third place in Saudi Pro League and missed the qualification in the Asian Champions League.
