Romania TV, fined for political attacks
Menked in the public meeting on 03.06.2025, the National Audiovisual Council analyzed the reports prepared by the Control Directorate and the Monitoring Directorate and decided to apply the following sanctions:
– a fine of 20,000 lei to the Romanian TV station, for non -observance of the provisions of art. 3 para. (2) of the Audiovisual Law no. 504/2002 and of art. 40 para. (1), (2) and art. 64 para. (1) letter. b) of the Code of regulation of the audiovisual content. The shows ‘Romania in 60 minutes’ (29.04.2025), ‘Romania TV’ (04.05.2025, 23:00), ‘Romania TV’ from 10:00 and ‘Culminating Point’ on 06.05.2025 were taken into account. Among the titles displayed were « bags with money in the territory to control the vote »; ‘Grindeanu (PSD), Tudose (PSD) and Hubert (PNL), in the viewfinder;
– public order for Hora TV, because at the dissemination of the edition of 29.03.2025 of the show ‘Good morning the world’ the provisions of art. 36 para. (2) of the audiovisual law, according to which the windows dedicated to the transmission of teleshopping ‘must be clearly delimited and identified by appropriate optical and acoustic signals’;
– public order to the post Nașul TV for the editions of 03 and 04.03.2025 of the show ‘Let’s talk about you’, within which the provisions of art. 64 para. (1) letter. a) of the Code of regulation of the audiovisual content, according to which: ‘by virtue of the fundamental law of the public, the providers of audiovisual media services must comply with the following principles: a) ensuring a clear distinction between facts and opinions’. Among the titles displayed were all the secret plans of the war ‘(03.03.2025),’ Ursula wants us to war with Russia! ‘ (04.03.2025), and among the statements in the shows: ‘Radu Moraru: What I said, Gabriela is that if we do not prevent this, after the martial law is given, after Ciolacu has passed the law and confiscates and prepares Romania of war, you have nothing to do. Yes, they will be shot, thousands of mothers will be shot (03.03.2025).
