Roland Trettl: Top chef and former Ikarus boss restaurant competes at “Let’s Dance” in 2025
Roland Trettl was born in Bozen, South Tyrol in 1971 and made a name for himself as a top chef. At the age of 16 he started training as a cook. Today he is a top chef with international experience. He gained valuable experiences in gastronomy while working in Tokyo as a food-and-bever coach. He was also a chef in a restaurant in Mallorca and got his first Michelin star with his team.
He demonstrated his culinary skills as a chef in the “Ikarus” restaurant at Salzburg Airport again. In his role as an executive boss, he introduced a unique concept there. Under his leadership, the restaurant was awarded a Michelin star and also received further honors from Gault Millau and Falstaff.
In addition to his work as a cook and moderator, Roland Trettl also works as an author. He has published several cookbooks, including « Cooking for two » and « Submit » in which he gives insights into his culinary philosophy and experiences from the star kitchen.

Roland Trettl has been seen regularly on television since 2016. He played his first fixed role as a coach in the « The Taste » cooking show, where he accompanied candidates until 2018. He then performed in various formats such as « Kitchen Impossible » and « Grill the professional », in which he faced culinary challenges. In 2018 he moved from pure cooking formats to the field of dating entertainment and took over the moderation of the Vox-Show « First dates -a table for two ». In the show he accompanies singles who get to know each other during a meal together. Two years later, the spin-off « First Dates Hotel » took place. In addition to his fixed moderation roles, Roland Trettl continues to appear in various cooking shows – be it as a guest juror or as an opponent in cooking duels.
