River connections in the Tagus with interruptions on Thursday
The river bonds between Lisbon and the southern bank of the Tagus will be interrupted during the afternoon of Thursday, due to the conduct of a plenary of Soflusa transtejo workers (TTSL).
« Due to the general plenary, convened by TTSL workers representative union organizations, it is expected to interrupt the regular service, » the Soflusa transtejo said on Wednesday in a statement.
On its website, the company states that the workers’ plenary will affect several river links, namely between Terreiro do Paço and Barreiro, Cacilhas, Montijo, Seixal and Trefaria, between 12:55 and 18:45.
« In case of regular service stoppage, river terminals and stations are closed during these periods for security reasons, » the company warns in a statement.
According to the Federation of Transport Unions, in Plenary will be discussed the current phase of the negotiation process with the company and the position to be assumed by union organizations.
Successive boat suppression, as with some changes verified in this service, namely at times, have motivated some criticism of the users of this transport.
Transtejo Soflusa (TTSL) is the company responsible for the river connection between Seixal, Montijo, Cacilhas, Barreiro and Trafaria/Porto Brandão, in Setúbal district, and Lisbon.
In 2024, TTSL transported the river connection between Seixal and Lisbon a total of 1,040,043 passengers.
