Rimi officially transferred to the ownership of the Danes
The Swedish retail company ICA Gruppen completed the deal with the Danish group Salling after the approval of the competition departments. As a result of this, the RIMI Baltic retail network has passed to the new owner, BNS reports, referring to the material of Rus.postimees.
The amount of the transaction amounted to 1.3 billion euros, and this event opens up a completely new stage of development for RIMI as part of a long-term business strategy.

Since 2007, RIMI belonged to the largest Swedish retail-concert ICA Gruppen, during which time the company has turned into a strong and modern enterprise. It is distinguished by financial stability, clear growth goals, modern shops and a smart focus on sustainable development and innovation.
Last year, the company’s turnover reached 1.9 billion euros. The new owner – the Salling group – intends to continue the successful history of Rimi, strengthening its market position. Investments in improving customer experience, a more thoughtful range of goods, a smart price policy and a friendly environment for customers are planned.
After the purchase of RIMI, almost 2100 stores and more than 68,000 employees in Germany, Denmark, Poland and the Baltic countries had at the disposal of Salling Group.
