Rich Music Collage and Excellent Performance at Piano Day Concerts in Skopje
With a rich program and two concerts, which featured piano students at DMBUC « Ilija Nikolovski -Louis », yesterday the 9th time was completed marking the Piano Day in Skopje. At the concerts at the Cultural Information Center, Salon 19:19, 40 students from the school performed with works of different musical eras and styles, highlighting the sound diversity and wealth of piano as an instrument.
The concerts were preceded by a seminar and a workshop led by prof. Dr. Milica Skaric on the theme « Symbolism in a well-tempered piano » with a focus on the works of Johan Sebastian Bach.
Piano Day is a global initiative established by German composer Nils Fram in 2015. The event was organized by MA Svetlana Dimitrievska, Head of the Piano Department in « Ilija Nikolovski-Louis », and is part of the school’s annual program.
-The day of the piano-Skopje is the first event in Macedonia to mark the global initiative. We are happy to motivate and incite the other music schools in the country. This year, 40 students presented 40 students through a musical collage of different stylish eras, with great performances. Previously, prof. Dr. Skaric with the seminar and the workshop introduced us into a different world, expanded our views and showed us where Bach’s ingenuity is going, which is boundless. We are also pleased with the unselfish sharing of precious information and overall enusiasism and the positive energy created around this initiative. We all celebrate music and try to inspire young pianists as much as possible – says Dimitrievska.
