« Response to traditions and customs in parliament »

Bergþór Ólason MP for the Central Party says MPs show disrespect for traditions and customs in parliament.

Bergþór said this in a pulpit in Althingi today following the fact that Sigmar Guðmundsson MP and Ása Berglind Hjalmarsdóttir MP for the Samfylking’s speech made a speech by Karl Gauta Hjaltason, the MP, last week in the parliamentary work.

« Talk for peace and sell fish »

Foreign Minister Thorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir issued a joint declaration along with the foreign ministers of five other states just under a week ago, calling for the Israeli government to leave its plans to expand its military operations on the Gaza Strike and have a permanent presence there.

Karl Gauti made the statement a mention last week in the parliament, where he said, among other things, that Thorgerður Katrín must realize that she is the Minister of Foreign Affairs a small small nation who has the lot to « speak for peace and sell fish. »

Sigmar and Ása Berglind made a speech by Karl Gauta a topic in the work of the parliament today. Sigmar said that with his statement, Thorgerður Katrín spoke to peace and Ása Berglind asked, among other things, how many children would have to leave their lives before Karli Gauta and the Central Party considered it appropriate to use « Israel stopping the life of innocent people. »

Asked the President to take the board of directors on a school bench

Bergthór said, as previously stated, that he thought the majority of the MPs with this was to show the traditions and customs in parliament disrespect.

« It is customary for it to be informed before MPs intend to be given to another MP in his speech, » Bergthór said in his speech.

Bergthor can say to justify the inexperience of MPs for some time, but in the end, those who have experience have to guide those who do not have it. He then asked the President of the Assembly to take the majority MPs on the school bench and tap them a bit.

It is worth noting that Ása Berglind later told the parliamentary meeting that she was not aware that it was customary to let MPs know before their words were quoted. She was sorry to have not done so, but she stood by her words.
