Ninove

In the courtyard of the town hall in Ninove, a lot of residents gathered on Thursday evening to support Guy D’Haeseleer (Forza Ninove). The daily statements of support and messages did not remove the city council, so they decided to organize a meeting where people could leave a message for the mayor.

In the shadow of the festivities of Witte Thursday in the city center of Ninove, a meeting also took place in the courtyard of the town hall for Mayor Guy D’Haeseleer. It was Malika Sclacmender, the plus daughter and ships in Ninove, who had invited the inhabitants to social media the day before.

In addition, there was also a possibility to leave video messages for the mayor.

Folk man

The Ninoof mayor is still waiting for a suitable liver donor in the hospital after an emergency admission with hepatitis and that also keeps many a ninovieter busy. « When we were confronted with a house fire two years ago, Guy also jumped into the breach, » say Mark Vercauteren and Veronique van den Hende.

Tough period

« It is indescribable how many people are behind Guy, » responds an emotional Malika Sclack Mender. « This has done us as a family. The wait is debilitating. Guy is a folk man and we don’t want to take that from him. »

« That is why I try to communicate as much as possible about him. All the groceries that people leave here end up with Guy. For us it was important to involve the ninovieters. I received daily messages from people who asked if they could help with something. »

This is also Guy’s life’s work that he suddenly has to give up. That is mentally difficult, both for him and for us.

Finally, Malika thanked all residents for the arrival. « Guy keeps fighting and we keep hoping, » she said to those present.
