Research on the tragic accident in Neda with a 4 -year -old boy dead – what do authorities are considering
The conditions under which the tragic accident occurred in the Neda area in Zacharo Ilias with a young child falling in a 25 -meter ravine And to lose his life, the authorities are investigating.
According to what has been known so far from testimonies of people in the area, the 4 -year -old, along with his father who is originally from Guatemala and his German mother, participated in groups of tourists who hiking a trail near Neda waterfalls.
The child appears to have been walking freely a few meters in front of his parents when he fell to a ravine of about 25 meters.
Father fell into the ravine to unravel the child
Initially there was information that the child fell with his father in the ravine. He is now examined if the child fell first and then the father in his attempt to approach it was also slightly injured.
Also what is being considered is whether the hike was organized by taking all protection measures, with a guide that guides hikers and highlighting the rough and dangerous points of the route. Another important point examined is whether such young children are allowed to participate in these activities and whether there are specific rules for their safe participation.
The complaints
According to a testimony to ilialive.gr by the owner of a tavern from Platania, Messinia, Dimitris Antonopoulos, who was on the spot shortly after the child’s fall « the child was free in front of the parents. Before the small waterfall in an isom, the child fell into the river from a height of 25 meters, hitting the fall on a tree. When I arrived the child was alive but in bad condition, his father had uploaded it with someone else. «
Speaking of the trail, Mr. Antonopoulos described it as dangerous. « It’s not only where you walk the danger, but also on top of the rocks, » he said.
He suggested that there should be another safer trail to make access to waterfalls safely.
Mr. Antonopoulos, along with the above, complained that there are people who bring tourists to see the waterfalls, without licenses and security measures.
