A quarter of the stands on water safety, designed to save life in the event of an incident on the water, must be restored before the start of the bathing season, the rescue department reports.
Information shields for safety on water with rescue equipment are installed in 691 places for bathing in Estonia. 179 of them need repair or replacement this year, since they were broken or stolen. For example, in the commune of Lyuganuze over the past ten years, rescuers were forced to purchase a new rescue circle and a cable for an information stand on the shores of Lake Ulyast every spring.
Safety signs on the water are installed so that in case of real danger it is possible to use a rescue circle and a cable in order to save the needing, without exposing their own life. The rescue department recommends to practice in the throwing of the circle, but after that it must be returned to the place so that, if necessary, the help is at hand.
“When going to the pond, it is important to ensure its own safety and the safety of your loved ones. This is facilitated by a stand on water safety, where you can get information about the safety on the water, and in the event of an incident you can take a lifebuoy in order to save a person’s life. If a rescue circle or other remedy is absent or broken, this makes salvation difficult, and can also jeopardize the life of the rescuer, since when drowning people are unpredictable and can accidentally push the rescuer under water, ”said Mikko Virkla, an expert from the preventive department of the rescue department.
“A broken or incomplete standing stand on the water will not help in case of an unforeseen situation on the water. A breakdown of the stand, or taking a rescue circle with it, Lin, or another auxiliary remedy, can jeopardize someone’s life, ”Virkala said.
The safety stand on the water should be located near the reservoir, be noticeable and easily accessible. Rescue equipment, information and instructions on how to use rescue equipment, call the center of emergency response are located at the safety stand on the safety stand and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation. In addition, the information stand should contain general information about the safety rules on the water. Each stand is also indicated by the number so that in the event of an accident, the Emergency Assistance Center can determine the scene of the incident as soon as possible and directed help to those in need.
