Whether Chechnya, Iraq, Afghanistan or Ukraine- Thomas Seifert has been reporting about war and crisis areas all over the world for 25 years. On Thursday evening he was awarded the renowned « Hugo Portisch Prize » on the ORF Radio/Kulturhaus in Vienna.

« Thomas Seifert is tireless where there is a crash in the entablature of the present, » said Puls4 Infochefin Corinna Milborn in her eulogy. « As Hugo Portisch explained to us the great turn of the times in 1989, Thomas Seifert is at the front lines of the current turning point and ensures that we not only know what is happening, but also understand why. »

Seifert worked in the editorial offices of « News », « Press » and « Wiener Zeitung ». He is currently working as a freelance journalist and, together with Martyna Czarnowska, is editor -in -chief of the magazine « European Voices », which is published by the « press » and the ÖGAVN.
