Renewed entrance exams shared the opinions of the candidates
Universities|Universities’ entrance examinations were revolutionized this spring. Examiners needed more information and open questions for the tests to write.
University The entrance examinations were significantly renewed this spring.
There are nine entrance examinations and they are nationwide. You can apply for one test for several different search sites.
HS asked the entrance exam from G’s creators how the renewed exams felt.
This experiment was able to apply for administrative sciences, social sciences, legal sciences, communications science and social sciences. There was a common section for all applicants and a differentiated section for those who seek communication or law. According to the interviewees, the joint section of the exam and the differentiated section of the law included only multi -choice tasks. The differentiated section of communication science measured writing skills.
Karoliina Ruutiainen20, missed a good feeling. He applies for social science.
« Last year I did a psychology entrance exam, and compared to that, this entrance exam was much easier. On the other hand, the exam may have been more difficult for those who are used to writing essays, » he says.
There was no pre -material for the joint section, but Ruutiainen still prepared for Thursday’s exam. He went through the previous entrance examinations and read literature on social policy.
« They gave me an insight and concepts about what we are talking about, » he explains.
According to Ruutiainen, the experiment was well built. However, there is room for improvement.
« We were told that there would be a lot of multiple choices for the exam, but it was not officially said whether there was a multiple choice. Many were prepared for, for example, the interpretation of statistics and the like, » Ruutiainen opens.
18-year-old Otso oras Applying for political sciences and first participated in the entrance examination. He was surprised by what the test was.
Otso Oras just graduated from high school and is applying for university right away. « With a good time » he runs his first year at university before he starts his military service.
« The whole exam was mainly about reading comprehension, but of course quite challenging. However, it doesn’t terribly apply what has been read. From there, the material can easily pick up those answers, » Oras says.
The experiment seemed easy in Ora.
« The results have not been published, so you don’t know if it was so easy after all, » he points out.
For the most part, Oras was happy with the format for the entrance examination. He wants to leave development ideas to professionals, but he has one suggestion.
« The common sections could be a portion to write in which the candidate himself produces text, » he thinks.
In law second -time Alexander Lindell19, says that this time the test seemed more challenging than last year.
Alexander Lindell has studied business science of the year.
« In the experiment, the time pressure was higher than last year, there was quite a hurry. I think the multi -choice questions in the right section were also quite difficult. The reading time was short, » he says.
Pre -material, which was almost 200 -page material, was distributed to the differentiated section of the law. The pre -material was distributed three days before the exam.
Lindell feels that it is impossible to adopt a legal text in a short time.
« It’s almost a little luck to remember what is being asked in the experiment. »
In a short preparation time, there was also its advantage.
« In that sense, the preparation felt good that I couldn’t stress as long as the time was so short, » Lindell jokes.
Previous experience in the entrance examination and a year of studying at university helped. They were useful, for example, with time use and in the processing of larger texts.
Lindell Still, he was not happy with the nature of the exam. In his view, putting multi -choice tasks alone was a one -sided solution.
“I would have liked more open questions to think about things and also test writing skills and problem solving skills,” he says.
For example, Lindell would develop an exam by adding essay questions and making the law of law larger than the common section.
He hopes that the reforms will be rethought.
« The idea was good, but implementation may not be the best in the world, » Lindell says.
