Removing the four -lane section of the Daugavpils highway from Nicgale to Daugavpils / Day

The LVC points out that the entire section of the Daugavpils highway from Nicgale to Daugavpils is currently in poor technical condition.

The highway section for 23 kilometers along with the Daugavpils bypass section from Svente to the Daugavpils highway is divided into three projects – from Nicgale to Ganchauski, from Ganchauski to Lubasta Lake, as well as from Lake Lake to Daugavpils Bypass and Daugavpils.

In the second and third stages of the project, from Ganchauski to Daugavpils, including the Daugavpils Bypass section, the construction work will begin this year and will continue next year.

Including construction work from Ganchauskas to Lake Lake begins this week. The right side of the carriageway is currently closed, while providing access to properties. The movement of vehicles is organized on the left side of the carriageway. The speed limit is 70 and 50 kilometers per hour, but the expected section of the section is 20 minutes.

The LVC informs that at the 11.7 kilometers section, both carriageways will rebuild the road blanket, with most of the recycled layer, but in some places all the construction of the road will also be rebuilt. In the end, two layers of asphalt concrete are laid throughout the stage.

Daugavpils highway 221.78. The bridge over the Liksna River and 214.39 will be rebuilt in the kilometer. The kilometer will be restored over the farm road near Kirupe. Five tunnels will be renewed or rebuilt, which can be used by pedestrians and animals.

Public transport stops, parking lots by Kosha Lake, will be rebuilt, water districts will arrange and clean the ditches, clean and build or renovate the culverts, restore the existing one and build a new drainage. Bushes will be cut in the road compartment lane and trees hazardous to traffic and disruptive trees.

Construction work is carried out by SIA « Binders » for a contract price of EUR 25.14 million with value added tax (VAT), the project is financed from the state budget. Construction supervision is provided by SIA « Firma L4 », project author JSC « Road Projekts ».

Despite the fact that on the highway section from Nicgale to Lake Lake Lake will continue to separate carriageways and two lanes in each direction, even after the rebuilding, the maximum permitted speed will remain 90 kilometers per hour. This is due to the fact that, in the light of the municipal objections, there will be no removal of several turning points during the rebuild, explains the LVC, adding that the turning on the basis with the basic track is a dangerous maneuver.

The company also points out that in the future, as the traffic intensity increases, the trimming will still be closed to organize safe traffic, and turning will be able to rotate circles in the nodes.

Almost 1,000 trees will be cut down during the reconstruction of the Daugavpils highway, which is dangerous to traffic or interferes with the construction of the road structure. Tree felling has received permission from the Augstdaugava Municipality, as well as the opinion of the Nature Conservation Agency for individual trees.

In the third phase of the project, from Lake Lake to Daugavpils, including Daugavpils bypass (A14), it is planned to start the construction work a week after Easter.

In the construction work, the Daugavpils highway section from turn to Kraslava to Daugavpils bypass will be narrowed and rebuilt by one carriageway with one lane in each direction. The A6/A6 and A6/A14 will turn into rotation circles.

Construction work at these stages will be carried out by SIA « ACBR » for the total contract amount of EUR 12 462 595 with VAT. Construction supervision will be provided by SIA « ACM Projekts », the project is written by SIA « Projekts EAE ».
