Relatives of shot soldiers did not get a lifelong to the killer
As it became known to Kommersant, an unusual process has ended in the Moscow region. Representatives of the two military personnel who died in the Zone of Svo tried to achieve a life sentence for their killer. However, the offender, who tried to present the death of colleagues as the result of an attack by the Ukrainian sabotage and intelligence group (DRG), remained with his 15-year conclusion and wants to go to the advanced attack aircraft.
Roman Arkhangelsk, who served in the army to mobilize, was convicted by the Southern District Military Court to 15 years of strict regime. He was found guilty of intentional murder of two persons in a generally hazardous way (part 2 of article 105 of the Criminal Code), and one of the crimes aimed at hiding the other.
The events that formed the basis of the criminal case occurred on February 7, 2023 in the Zone of the Svo.
Being in one of the houses, the military, on the case file, drank vodka. Then, according to investigators, between the Arkhangelsk Roman and his drinking company, a conflict occurred on the basis of personal hostile relations, which ended with a short burst from the machine gun.
Of the three bullets released, one was sacrificed, but a through wound to the head with damage to the brain was fatal. While Roman Arkhangelsky was thinking about what to do next, he heard steps outside the window. Having jumped out, he saw some military man and, deciding that he became a witness to what had happened, opened fire on him. The military, who turned out to be another arrow colleague, was also struck by one bullet, which this time hit the victim in the chest.
Then the killer, as they say in the case file, decided to hide the traces of the crime, imitating that the military suffered losses as a result of an attack by the DUS sabotage and reconnaissance group. And after nothing came of it, I designed a confession.
Having evaluated the turnout and active cooperation with the investigation, the state prosecutor did not seek maximum punishment for the killer. True, committing a crime in a state of intoxication was found in a circumstance aggravating guilt.
In the military appeal of Vlasikha near Moscow, victims appealed – relatives of the victims of the military. Remembering the drunken shooting and the enemy’s invented DRG, they demanded that the person involve the maximum possible punishment. Under Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, this is the death penalty, the execution of which is suspended in Russia, or lifelong conclusion.
However, “the sentence unfair due to its excessive softness” stood in an appeal, as a representative of the military prosecutor’s office demanded that the defendant was raising a young child, to participate in his characterized extremely positively and expressed a desire to return to the special operation.
