« Don’t worry, this time it’s not just about pain and trauma. » This is what Bella Ramsey says in an interview with the « Press on Sunday » on the occasion of the second season of « The Last of Us ».
Bella Ramsey, born in 2003 in Nottingham, discovered the joy of standing on a stage in 2003. A few years later, the nonbinarian teenager became known for a role in the « Game of Thrones » series and also took on the main role in the British children’s series « A Lausige Hexe ». After further appearances, such as in the series « His Dark Materials » or Lena Dunham’s unusual history film « Catherine Called Birdy », Ramsey got one of the two leading roles in the video game film adaptation « The Last of Us » and was nominated for the Emmy, the BAFTA and the Golden Globe. After a sensationally successful season, the second has been seen at Sky and WoW since April 13th.
Bella, you once said that with some roles you feel that you are as close to you as if you were already part of you. Does this also apply to Ellie in the « The Last of Us » series?
More than for all other figures that I have played so far. I still remember how I got the first few script pages at the time to turn a casting video with which I applied for the role. Even then I had the feeling that this girl was in me and I just had to get her out. I knew who she was and what it was with her. And now, after two seasons, of course I know them even better.
