1500 meters, men: Pihlström won – but missed the record
• that Samuel Pihlström Is in the form of his life is almost an understatement right now. Earlier this week he beat the Swedish record on an English mile in Oslo with almost three seconds. At Stockholm Stadium he was looking for his second Swedish record of 1500 meters this year. Because it had a faster time than 3.30.87 required. Pihlström went up in the lead with one lap left, but despite the fact that the public cheer carried him forward, he did not reach a record this time. Pihlström won the race at 3.31.53.
