Record for roads in Romania (photo)
The turbine that will equip the power plant from Mintia arrived on Friday, the agabaritic transport with a weight of 788 tonnes and a length of 120 meters being appreciated as a record for the roads in Romania.
The transport operation required the establishment of several temporary traffic restrictions on DN7, at the time of passing the vehicles, but also technical solutions for crossing some bridges on the route.
The convoy, with a total length of 120 m, width of 6 m, 5.4 m high and a weight of 788 tonnes was composed of two drawing tugs, two pushing tugs and a modular trailer, totaling 56 axes.
The route measured about 264 kilometers, according to the data published by the Regional Directorate of Roads and Bridges Timișoara.
The new power plant in Mintia will be the largest and most modern in Europe and will have a capacity of 1,700 MW. In addition, it will create over 600 jobs.
The costs related to the construction and commissioning of the power plant, estimated at 1.4 billion euros, will be financed by the private Investor Mass Global Energy Rom SRL.
On December 18, 2024, the Government declared the investment project 'Mass Mintia' power station 'as one of national energy importance.
