Record figures for wheat production in Romania
Romania would register in the next agricultural season, which will start on July 1, 2025, the largest wheat harvest after 1997, which means a new year in which Romania will be one of the main European exporters, argus Media consulting company claims, Bloomberg reports.
After carrying out an evaluation tour of the crop state earlier this month, the analysts of Argus Media announced on Monday that Romania’s wheat production would reach 12.2 million tonnes in season 2025-2026, which will start on July 1, 2025. Comparatively, in the current season of wheat of Romania is estimated at 10.2 million.
According to analysts, the increase of production is the result of better yields per hectare, as well as the growth of sown surfaces.

However, « the forecasts show that the weather will be warmer and drought in the coming weeks, a normal situation for Romania, which will not create risks for wheat culture in the final development phase, » adds analysts.
