Recession

The recession in SSKJ2 has an economics qualifier and an explanation of ‘decline, decline in economic activity’. The same term is also indicated by the economic recession and the economic recession. In addition to these two adjectives, according to the data from the collocation dictionary, contemporary Slovene is often defined by the adjectives of the world, severe, deep, threatening, time -consuming.

From the dictionary we learn about other words that typically appear in the word recession: when there is a fall or slip into a recession, we face and cope with it, save it because of it, try to get out of it, save or swim, and then recover from it.

The recession is therefore related to the economic crisis. The largest of them was called the great depression and lasted from 1929 to 1941. After its end, the name depression for the appearance of economic decline was too threatening, so the name of the recession began to be used. This one appeared at least three times in this century.

The first began in December 2007 in the US and in Europe towards the end of 2008, and ended in June 2009. Due to its similarity to the great depression, it was called a great recession. The second and third recession was caused by the Covida-19 pandemic in 2020 and the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

In addition to the economic recession, which is currently showing teeth, we must also be concerned about the demographic recession, which is subject to reduced fertility rate and aging population.

Finally, another completely different recession, which we also do not want. This is the gum recession, which is about removing the edge of the gum from the tooth neck towards the top of the root, which is mainly due to irregular oral hygiene, periodontal disease and genetics.

Given that the recession, whether one or the other, does not mean anything good, I wish us all that it would not be.
