Rebecca & Fiona and Rufus Wainwright to the Royal Opera
Rebecca & Fiona appears on the first evening at the opera scene in Stockholm when the ballet « IF IT Feels Good … » by choreographer William Dugan will receive premiere on October 24. The idea is that the audience will be offered « a pumping club night on the toe tips ».
Rufus Wainwright comes to the Opera in Stockholm for an exclusive concert on October 11 – the same day as it is the new premiere of his opera « Prima Donna », with soprano Elin Rombo in the lead role. During the concert, the American artist accompanies himself among the scenes for the performance.
This spring’s first opera premiere 2026 is « Figaro differs » by Elena Langer. It is described as a romantic drama thriller and is directed by Linus Fellbom who has previously set up the classics « Barber in Seville » and « Figaro’s wedding » on the same stage.
The classic « Madama Butterfly » by Puccini is also shown during the spring season, with Sofia Adrian Jupiter as director. She wants to make up with the opera’s romantic shimmer around the 15-year-old girl sold to an American officer. It will be the premiere on March 21st.
In 2025, it is noted that it is 100 years since the tenor Nicolai Gedda was born, with two concerts in the Gold Foején where parts of his repertoire are performed. The concerts will be held September 15 and 23.
