« Really a project with friends » – Liberation

« My previous covers For singlesit was especially photos and for my first album all starts with a desire to work with Alexandra Rizk, a friend who is a dentist, but above all a painter. This disc is really very collaborative. I believe that a dozen producers had to participate in its realization. So I wanted to show that it is a project designed with friends. When we started working, Angie was not over, but I sent her the pieces so that she understands the atmosphere. We started by creating the singles pockets so that it was consistent. This is the first time that I had released a physical copy of my music and I wanted it to be something that I could keep and put on a wall. ”

“At the start we made a photo that served as a model for Alex. I find that the disc explores, among other things, the relationships between organic and digital and it is a bit the same with the method we used. With Photoshop, we added small details, the scissors on the ground, the joints, the salmon, to provide an impression of weird and to recall songs from the album, the fish for example refers to Angie. It’s like a treasure hunt. Then she started looking for a basic shade, which even if it is covered by other colors sets the tone of the final painting. We left on a turquoise, between green and blue, a little emotionally dark. She was quickly to make this painting, barely ten days, when she is still a full -time dentist! ”

“I invited friends to create a kind of staging, like a little party. It reminded me of the atmosphere when I was in college in New York, where the weed was not legal and where we smoked only in the apartments. I believe that there is only one time marker, it is David at the top left which seems to be on a phone, but it could be old. The goal was really to reflect the complexity of the album, the disorder that music can release. ”
