Realitatea TV and Romania TV have shared their sanctions at CNA
Made in the public meeting on 17.06.2025, the National Audiovisual Council analyzed the reports drawn up by the Monitoring Directorate as a result of self -assessment and notifications and has decided to apply the following sanctions:
-a fine of 20,000 lei to the Romanian TV station, because in the programs ‘Culminating’ of 20.05.2025 and ‘RO in the report’ of 21.05.2025 the provisions of art. 40 para. (2) of the Code of regulation of the audiovisual content, according to which ‘if the accusations provided in par. (1) are brought by the provider of audiovisual media services, it must comply with the principle of AUDIATUR et Altera PARS; Respecting this principle implies non-discriminatory conditions of expression until the end of the same program in which the accusations were made. In case the data subject refuses to present a point of view, this fact must be specified. ‘ Among the titles displayed were: ‘Baron anointed by Mafia Nordis, the new head of PSD; How to join the Nordis group at the power buttons; The investigation of party tricks with the people of the mafia ‘(‘ The climax ‘of 20.05.2025); ‘PSD beating: PSD reforms on account of the sick children, they do not give out the piles, but it dismisses the useful budget’, ‘Olguței people do not give out the piles but the useful budget’ (‘ro in the report’ of 21.05.2025);
– Public order of the post Realitatea Plus for the show ‘You decide 2025’ broadcast on 15.05.2025 in which the provisions of art. 3 para. (2) of the Audiovisual Law no. 504/2002, according to which ‘all audiovisual media service providers have the obligation to ensure the objective information of the public by presenting the facts and events and to favor the free formation of opinions’;
– public order to the post Realitatea Plus, because in the edition of 17.05.2025 of the ‘Newsroom’ show the provisions of art. 10 of the CNA decision no. 86 of February 25, 2025 regarding the rules of conducting in the audiovisual of the election campaign for the election of the President of Romania in 2025 and neither those of art. 64 para. (1) letter. a) of the audiovisual code. Titles displayed: ‘Maia Sandu, accused of manipulating the elections in Romania’; ‘Accusations: Romanians from Moldova, brought with bus to vote’; ‘Maia Sandu, accused of making the games of Soros and Usaid’.
In the same meeting, the Council approved the request of the company Radio M Plus SRL Piatra Neamț for granting audiovisual licenses for broadcasting through electronic communications networks of Program services M Plus TV Vaslui / M Plus TV Vaslui HD (Vaslui), M Plus TV Bacãu / M Plus TV Bacãu HD (Bacău) and M Plus TV (Botosani).
