Ran at the same time as last year
The record participation was in the race Puffin Run in the Westman Islands yesterday when 1,334 competitors ran 20 kilometers in the sun and cheer. As stated in the announcement, this market has been the most crowded off -road race ever held in Iceland.
The positivity and joy of the participants was clear as they dealt with the difficult but beautiful way. After the race, they all gathered at Vigtartorg and shared experience stories.
This is the eighth year the race takes place and expresses its huge gratitude to all those who participated and those who worked on the race.
Competed for the first time and set a track record
Andrea Kolbeinsdóttir won the women’s category for the fourth year in a row in 1:27:52. It’s the same time as she ran last year. In second place was Sigþóra Brynja Kristjánsdóttir at 1:33:28 and in third place was Steinunn Lilja Pétursdóttir at 1:33:36.

Two former winners in the race were in the next two men’s seats. Thorsteinn Roy Jóhannsson, who won in 2021, finished second in 1:15:56 and the winner of the last three years, Arnar Pétursson, was third in 1:16:46.
