Rama visit to the Sheba Medical Center in Israel, partnership with TUHC for artificial innovation and intelligence

Subsequently, Professor Kreiss explained the whole procedure that the virtual health assistant does, from choosing the language of conversation, to the recommendation for imaging, laboratory and physical medical examination that the patient should do.

“After completing the history, the system itself determines the laboratory tests, because the doctor is under stress all the time and the system knows what the lab should do and then sends it to the imaging and there decisions.

We cannot do everything right away, but here we have a system where we put the doctor at the command center and they do the surveillance and observation. We are not courageous enough to trust everything to machinery, but we are the first place in the world to treat real patients in the emergency ward through artificial intelligence, but under human supervision, ”he continued.

The head of the Sheba Health Center emphasized that a lot of money has been spent on this project, but if it is achieved in one year that the system makes decisions with fewer mistakes than people, then the doctor’s need can be eliminated.

« People tell me it is a small difference, but for us it is a big difference. If we can reduce the load of doctors by 30%, we have 800 patients daily and if we manage to reduce the load of doctors by 30-40%, then this is a very good start, » Kreiss said.
