– We need stability, the right project. Everyone around the club cannot be changed every two years, the right people should be trusted. As stupid as it may sound, we made a step. Until the last round, we were in the title fight. This has not been the case in recent years. We have a lot of good, talented young players. It takes time to get things done.
He also commented on the departure of coaches Gennara Gattus:
– Mister has become a friend to us for a lifetime. He lives in Spain, we will be close to each other. I want to thank him for everything he has done for me and all of us. We all have to thank him, a great man.
Asked if Gattuso would be close to them all year or only half, Rakitic replied with a smile:
