This was said in an interview with BNT, the director of the largest arms concern in Europe, Reinmetal, Armin Paperger. He specified that the company already has factories in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Hungary and is launching a project in Romania.
« Bulgaria must become part of the European Defense Eco System. The industry here predisposes that it can become part of the major European conglomerates. This can be done, but the government decides. In my opinion, it is ready to such an idea, » Paperger said.

He announced that during his visit to Bulgaria during the week he received a common idea of the capabilities of military enterprises in the country. « Some have the potential, but there are great growth opportunities. Almost all businesses are average in terms of turnover between 20 and 200-300 million, euros a year, but in order to participate in the international stage, the scale must be several billions, » the industrialist said.
According to Paperger, additional capacities are needed for the production of gunpowder and explosives. He points out that Reinmetal is now the number 1 manufacturer in the 12 thousand tonnes of the year, but it needs power for another 2000 points. A quarter of a three -billion euros will be realized, which we can invest in Bulgaria, along with the government, « said Armen Popeger.
According to him, the arms industry will become the engine of the European economy. « We are building 10 factories in Europe, one plant is being built for 12 months. Each year, appointment of 8,000 people, » he says.
