Railway circulation, temporarily stopped
The railway circulation is temporarily stopped on the radius of the regional branch of Iasi railways, between Leșu Ilvei and Ilva Mică, due to the lack of tension in the contact line, CFR SA announced on Tuesday night.
‘The National Railway Company’ CFR ‘SA informs that, on May 27, 2025, within the regional branch of Iași railway, starting at 9:45 pm, the contact line (LC) was accidentally removed between Hm Leșu Ilvei and the Ilva Mică station. The incident was caused by repeated triggers in the contact line, generated by a fallen tree over the electrical infrastructure, which led to its damage, « it is stated in a statement from the railway infrastructure administrator.
Following this incident, the IRN 12763 Iași – Timișoara Nord train, belonging to the national operator CFR Călaturi, is stopped at the Poiana Ilvei station starting at 9:51 pm, waiting for the voltage power supply.
For the intervention and the remediation of the faults, Drezina Pantograph from Lunca Ilvei station was mobilized, which moves at the place of the incident to release the gauge and repair the contact line.
« CFR SA ensures that the specialized teams act in an emergency regime to restore the normal functioning of the installations and to resume the railway traffic in safe conditions, » the statement said.
