Radboud University suspends cooperation at institutional level with two Israeli universities


Radboud University immediately spends the cooperation at institutional level with two Israeli universities. The Nijmegen institution announced this on Wednesday. It is about the Tel Aviv University and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The Executive Board said the collaboration earlier this month wanting to break. They continued that decision after a positive advice from the university participation council.

The Executive Board takes over the position of an advisory committee, which states that « human rights violations by Israel in the Palestinian territories are serious and systematic. » According to the advice, the Israeli universities in question « contribute to direct and specific violation of human rights » in a number of cases.

However, the suspension does not apply to collaborations between faculties and individual scientists from Radboud University and Israeli institutions. The participation council had advised the Executive Board to also suspend those collaborations.

Student protests
