The Luxembourg language is a real mosaic of regional words, traditions and pronouncements – and that is exactly what makes it so exciting! But many variants that were still familiar around 1900 have also disappeared today.

This was compiled by the historian and linguist Alain together with geographer Claude Schmit in an Atlas, the Volume 2 of his « Lëtzebuerger Sproochatlas 1900 », who has just come out. The publisher are the Zenter Fir d’lëtzebuerger Sprooch and the Institute Grand-Ducal-Section Linguistique, Ethnology et OnomaTique. The Atlas costs 75 euros and is available in all bookstores.
