« Quartet Saxophones » closes the classical music festival in Strumica


The Festival of Classical Music aims to bring classical chamber music closer to the audience, to encourage listeners to feel the different colors and sounds of the instruments. This music festival enriches the cultural life of the city and the region and contributes to Strumica to become a cultural and art center in the Balkans

Goran Kavrakov’s « Quartet Saxophones » concert, Nikola Temelkov Slavica Despotova and Dame Kamchev closed this year’s edition of the Classical Music Festival « Classic – International Strumica Festival 2025 ». Their performance will take place at NSCC « Anton Panov » in the lobby at 8 pm.
Goran Kavrakov completed his secondary music education at DMUC « Sergei Mihailov » in Stip. He later continued at FMU in Skopje on the saxophone instrument, and in 2012. Complete its Masters Degree with the Saxophone Insophone of the FMU-Skopje. From 2002 to 2007, he worked as a saxophonist at MRT’s « Big Ben ». Since 2007 he has been working as prof. After saxophone in DMUC « Sergey Mihajlov » in Stip, where he has won more than a hundred awards at state and international competitions. In May 2018 He was elected director of DMUC « Sergei Mihajlov », and he is the founder and head of the 2019 Quartet Saxophones. Successfully collaborates with the Music Academy in Basel, Switzerland, and is perfect in Heidelberg, Germany. In 2019 Under his leadership, the school is the winner of the largest award of the Municipality of Stip – « November 8 ».

Nikola Temelkov completes primary music education in the class of prof. M. Serafimov, and ends up in the class of prof. D. Micanov. Further education continues at FMU in Skopje Instrumental Department – saxophone in the class of prof. S. Dimov. In 2011 With the end of the pedagogical retraining, he acquires the title of saxophone teacher in the DMUC « Sergey Mihailov » in Stip. From graduation to date successfully achieving positive results in teaching and artistic activity. Active participation in master schools, seminars and cultural summers and a permanent member of the Quartet Saxophones.

He currently works as a saxophone teacher in DMUC « Sergei Mihailov » in Stip.
Slavica Despotova begins primary music education at DMUC « Sergei Mihailov » in the class of prof. Goce Micanov, instrument piano. In the eponymous music center of the same name, he continues his secondary education with the saxophone instrument at prof. G. Momanov, and in 1999 Enrolled in DMA « Pancho Vladigerov » in Sofia, R Bulgaria, in the class of prof. C. Vlayev, Department of Pop and Jazz. He later continued his master’s degree in NBU Sofia, R. Bulgaria, and successfully implemented them. Since 2019 is a member of the Saxophones Quartet, and in 2020. Successfully performed a small solo tour in Kocani, Strumica and Stip with the project « Music for Saxophone and Piano ». She is currently working as a teacher at the DMUC « Sergei Mihajlov » at the Saxophone Elementary Music School.

Dame Kamchev finishes his primary music education in his hometown of Kavadarci, studying the clarinet instrument in Oombu « Lazo Micev-Rale », in the class of teacher G. Stojanov. He finishes secondary education in DMUC « Sergey Mihailov » in Stip, in the class of the eminent professor and pedagogue. Micanov. Dame Kamchev is part of the first generation of graduates of the Department of Jazz Saxophone at the University « Goce Delchev » in Stip, at the Music Academy in the class of the same professor where he graduated in 2011. Following his ambitions and talent, in 2013 he continued his education by studying classic studies in saxophone, at Ss. « Cyril and Methodius » in Skopje, enrolling in FMU – Skopje in the class of prof. N. Dimov. With these studies, Kamchev acquired a second academic degree in 2017, which is an unusual case. Dame Kamchev from the academic year 2018-2019 is employed as a saxophone teacher at DMUC « Sergey Mihailov » in Stip.
