Quarter Century Putin in Power: What does the Kremlin Master say in a new TV movie

Russian President Vladimir Putin said his country had enough strength and resources to lead the war in Ukraine to its logical end with the result necessary for Moscow. In a movie broadcast on Sunday on state television, on the occasion of 25 years since his first president’s election, he says he hopes not to have to use nuclear weapons in the conflict.

Putin ordered thousands of Russian troops to enter Ukraine on February 24, 2022, causing the biggest land conflict in Europe after World War II and the largest confrontation between Moscow and the West of the depths of the Cold War.

Hundreds of thousands of soldiers were killed or injured, and US President Donald Trump has repeatedly stated that he wants to end the « bloody bath », which the administration presents as an intermediary war between the United States and Russia.

Putin and Ukraine

In a movie on state television, entitled « Russia, the Kremlin, Putin, 25 years, » Putin was asked by a reporter about the risk of nuclear escalation from the war in Ukraine.

« They wanted to provoke us to make mistakes, » replies the President, Stoyk to a portrait of King Alexander III, a nineteenth -century conservative who suppressed disagreement. « There was no need to use these weapons … and I hope they won’t be needed. »

Trump has reported for weeks that he is disappointed with Moscow and Kiev’s failure to reach war -ending agreements, although the Kremlin said the conflict was so complicated that the rapid progress that Washington wishes was difficult.

Trump’s rapprochement with Putin: Why is it dangerous to all

Former US President Joe Biden, Western European leaders and Ukraine, have identified the invasion of imperial -style land and has repeatedly sworn to defeat Russian forces that control about one fifth of Ukraine.

Putin defines the war as a turning point in Moscow’s relations with the West, which he said humiliated Russia after the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 by expanding NATO and an attack on what he considers to be Moscow’s influence.

Trump warned that the conflict could become the Third World War. Former CIA Director William Burns said that at the end of 2022 there was a real risk of Russia using nuclear weapons against Ukraine, a claim denied by Moscow.

In Putin’s kitchen

Putin, a former KGB lieutenant colonel, to whom the presidential post was entrusted on the last day of 1999 by sick Boris Yeltsin, is the longest managed Kremlin leader after Joseph Stalin, who ruled 29 years until his death in 1953.

Russian dissidents – most now or in prison, or abroad, see Putin as a dictator who has built a fragile system of personal governance, relying on undercover and corruption that leads Russia to decline and disturbance.

His supporters identify Putin, who, according to Russian sociological studies, has a rating of over 85%, as a savior that opposed the arrogant West and put an end to chaos accompanying the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991.

In the carefully choreographed movie on state television, which gave viewers a rare look behind the zealous personal life of the Russian president, Putin was shown how he offered chocolate candy and fermented Russian milk drink to the Kremlin journalist Pavel Zabin in his private cuisine.

Putin says he first kneeling in prayer during the crisis at the Nord-Ost Theater Complex in Moscow in 2002, when Chechen fighters took over 900 people hostages. More than 130 hostages were killed.

Putin’s heir

« I don’t feel like a politician, » Putin says of his 25 years in power as president and prime minister.

« I continue to breathe the same air as millions of Russian citizens. It is very important. God forbid that it lasts as long as possible. And not to disappear. »

Asked his political heir, the 72-year-old president admits that he often thinks about the matter and evaluates the potential of possible candidates. According to him, it would be best to have several candidates to make a choice.

« But in the end, the choice depends on the people, the Russian people, the citizens, the voters, » says the president, for whom the constitution has been changed to retain its place in power.

He adds: « I think one person must appear, or better yet a few people to have people who could win trust from the country’s citizens, » Interfax quoted.
