Quality products, exported to Germany, USA and Japan
Deputy Prime Minister, at the same time Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, says the Agriculture Fair has become an international cooperation platform, into an open door to serious cooperation and the transfer of modern knowledge for Albanian farmers. « The Fair » Days of Agriculture 2025 « is getting another dimension this year: the largest international companies in the sector are coming to Albania for the first time, confirming the strategic importance of this activity for national agriculture and beyond, » Balluku said.
Balluku emphasized the importance of introducing advanced technology in this sector. « As we have done with tourism, with energy, with infrastructure and agriculture cannot be just a tradition but it has to be increasing. Balluku informed that farmers have added areas cultivated with medicinal plants whose exports go to Japan, Canada, USA, Germany and many other countries today. The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Anila Denaj, present at the event, stated that Albanian exports are more than 5-fold and that the growth of exports is a powerful indicator of competitive capacity and strategic expansion in new markets.
« In 2013 we were with 100 million euros exports in very few markets, today we are in 80 elite markets, we are 540 million euros at the end of 2024 and we have an ambitious 1 billion euro target in 2030, » she said. Further on Minister Denaj also emphasized food safety. « We talk about food safety, we talk about an important support scheme with many food security -related elements, which is not only the collection, processing point, but the entire chain of the laboratory system, » she said.
