PVV member Gidi Markuszower steps out of Presidium Lower House for Case antab
PVV Member of Parliament Gidi Markuszower steps out of the presidency of the Lower House, the daily management. He confirms that on Monday NRC. He wanted the Presidium to decide to investigate, among others, former chamber chairman Vera Bergkamp (D66), but the Presidium did not agree on that on Monday.
Last week concluded News hour and Follow the Money Based on a leaked research file that could be Bergkamp’s role in leaking sensitive information about research into her predecessor Khadija Arib than was known before.
The Public Prosecution Service could only investigate the role of the officials involved in that case. A 140 -hour community service was demanded against Bergkamp’s assistant Sonja K., but the judge released her this week due to lack of evidence.
Research into MPs can only be done on behalf of the government or the House of Representatives. On Monday, the Presidium, led by Chamber President Martin Bosma (PVV), met for 2.5 hours – on which Markuszower decided to give up his position. On Monday, the Presidium announced that it would again consider the issue again and to consider follow -up actions.
Markuszower will request a debate tomorrow about the ARIB case and wants to have the role of Bergkamp and former top officials investigated from the Lower House.
