– Berlin and Paris’ statements before Istanbul’s meeting were similar to an ultimatum, allegedly if Russia would not negotiate, the response will be « terrible », although it is unclear what was in mind. Is it not like Putin would be very excited about the « ultimatums » of Europeans?

– I would not appreciate it as an ultimatum as a clear message that everyone is at a fateful intersection and time to make a decision. If the Kremlin has decided to abandon the ceasefire, new sanctions will follow and Ukraine will be faster. Putin was demanded by a diplomatic « breakthrough », but he does not intend to do so. Putina is going to do the same thing as she has been doing for the last three months – to delay time and manipulate the situation.

– The diplomatic « breakthrough » does not predict, but here’s Gham’s visit to Istanbul, one suggests that a real breakthrough in sanctions in politics will be expected. I have no doubt that the sanction package offered by Mr Graham, including the giant duties on third countries working with Russia, is not empty words, but a very real action plan. By the way, it is already supported by about 70 members of the congress, including Republicans. This package can be fully transformed into reality.

– And Europe would join these sanctions? It is no secret that, for example, inpassing sanctions in Central Asian countries, it is the businesses of Europeans who are mostly using. In fact, Europe has long known it and has long been able to do it.

– I think the states will discuss it and find a solution. The language is primarily about Western goods needed for the Russian military industry and Russian strategic goods as energy resources. It is possible to touch food, medicines and similar goods. Even China has shown that it is possible to control these processes at the national level. Of course, there will always be entrepreneurs who will take risks to circumvent the sanctions for profit, but I have no doubt that most related states will join Graham’s « secondary » sanctions offered by Graham.

– So Putin did not listen to the warnings and not to be angry with Mr Trump in his time and did exactly that? Imagine there was a very cool « pacan » and got on a much harder?

– You can say so. Mr Trump really worked hard to talk to Putin, promised to meet in person and even offered him extremely favorable ceasefire, but Putin has pulled it all and is very likely to have to pay for it now.

Putin does not always adequately evaluate the situation, his own power and his opponent. Unless the miracle happens in the near future and the Kremlin’s behavior will change, but it would certainly be tantamount to a miracle. Now we see that Putin continues to challenge Mr Trump. He continues to play his games, continues to demonstrates what « despicable » Europe is, continues to bury the destruction of Ukraine and the « great enemy » in the West, and so on. You may have to pay for that if not fateful, it is very high.
