Putin defends « more just and multipolar » world order

The Russian president defended a new “fairer and more multipolar” world order on Tuesday in Volgograd and a security architecture that protects countries without harming the national interests of other states.

« It is important to create a fairer and more multipolar world order, based on respect for the interests of each country, » said Vladimir Putin at the plenary session of the largest common heritage forum performed in the former Stalinograde.

In his speech, the Kremlin leader stated that the international community must work to develop « an equal and indivisible security architecture » to protect « faithfully all states without harming anyone’s interests. »

Accompanied at the event by Belarussian leader and his ally, Alexander Lukashenko, the Russian president maintained that the European region should become an example of sustainable development, both economic and social.

At the same time, he criticized, without naming any country or conflict in Ukraine, a country he ordered invading more than three years ago, attempts by some states to impose his will on others based on what his exclusivity called.

On the other hand, he asked to avoid the “Renaissance of Nazism” and Russophobic and Anti -Semitic demonstrations and called on the creation of a commission to preserve the memory of Soviet victory over Germany Nazi.

Putin and Lukashenko came to Volgograd on the eve of the 80th anniversary of the Red Army’s victory over Nazi Germany in World War II, which Russia celebrates on May 9.
