Pupils right up to the age of 11

While at home we may be struggling with parents who forget the lunch box or the correct outdoor, Swiss teachers face a challenge of a completely different caliber.

Imagine the frame war in the teacher’s room when it comes to them that it is not a forgotten penal house, but rather a well-used diaper that is the problem of a student-and not one of the little pods in the school, but a pre-teenager who should be an expert in a toilet visit for a long time.

In the normally so well -ordered Switzerland, a wave of disturbing messages from the school front has hit the surface. Teachers tell of students, up to 11 years old, still stepping up to school wearing diapers.

And that doesn’t stop at the embarrassing fact. Obviously, teachers are also expected to act as a kind of educational pit stop, where diaper change on the school schedule is not a special sight.

It writes the Swiss media Sonntagzeitung.

The bizarre situation has caused several school leaders to respond with a mixture of unbelievers and action. In Aargau, a principal has had to call the parents of a « diaper briefing » before school start after the summer holidays-the message is not to be misunderstood: The kids must be « self-cleaning » when the bell rings. Other schools have printed Flyers, which with clear writing emphasizes that the teachers’ job description does not include intimate care of the wet kind.

Dagmar Rösler, the front woman for the Swiss teachers, does not put his fingers in between:

« Parents have a basic responsibility for their schoolchildren finishing diapers. That 11-year-olds come to school in diaper is simply disturbing. We are teachers, not diaper assistants. The limit has been exceeded. »
