Punishment for students’ support: Slejino Pozorje, Academy of Arts, Exit, Shakespeare Festival – Others without money on the provincial competition for culture – Culture
The Secretariat for Culture of the Provincial Government, which is always extraordinarily for this area, interested in Maja Gojković, decided that in public competitions, those who have supported the rebellion of students and citizens in any way. In short, those who directly or indirectly supported protests or at least managing staff did not effectively prevent their employees, they are casually tacted from the budget.
Thus, SlejiNo is also disabled, our most important festival of national drama and theater celebrates 70 years of existence, for the first time in its history, remained without money at the provincial competition for stage creativity.
Director of Sterija Pozorje Miroslav Radonjić in response to our question to comment on the results of this year’s competition was short.
« It doesn’t deserve any comment, » Radonjic said, noting that these few words were quite enough.
In the explanation of the Commission, which made the money award, and Jelena Đukić, and that it « compliant with the general interest in culture », but « demanding funds for realization for this type of project exceed the possibility of financing in this competition ».
In the course of all these years, it « required funds that have surpassed opportunities », because they would not actually never receive the amount they requested, but that reduced, it was almost always among the largest at the whole competition. Last year, they received 2.5 million, 2023. 3 million, 2022. years 2 million and so in order.
This year, most money at the provincial competition, 5 million dinars, was given a festival from Belgrade, accidentally or not the Belgrade Festival of Games, Movie Miles Aje Jung.
Pozorje, on the other hand, accidentally or not, left without a couple, after the play « Sveti Georgija kicks the actors of the Yugoslav Drama Theater, and closed the shocking director of Goran Markovic.
– There was a great tragedy in this city, which was terribly wounded and that launched big changes. This Sterija Pozorje is very, very special, this city is the most important city in this revolution – Markovic said after his play « Belgrade Trio » was declared the best.
The Academy of Arts was also punished, which was regularly supported by previous years in this, but also to all other competitions and which has been winner of the Silver Leo at Venice, Professor Vladan Joler.
A total of all nine projects were rejected, and in this competition for stage creativity as many as five.
« New actors for the new theater » and « Festival of the Student Theater » without dinars remained for the same reason, because the Commission clarifies: « The financial plan is not economical », so due to « limited funds certain for this competition preferably provided other projects. »
The money did not even receive three projects of the Drama Department of Academy, and the Festival « Sundays of Changes » – « Theater of Changes », was assessed as a festival that « no greater degree of influence on the quality of the cultural life of the community. »
Dean of the Academy of Zoran Krajisnik, notes that people don’t really have a play about what the situation currently faculties are, and they are literally on the edge of failure.
For all nine projects, they received funds earlier and this is how it expires, the message being sent. Remind, professors from the Academy are the first of all Novi Sad Faculties with their students.
– Serbian National Theater, Novi Sad Theater, Youth Theater and Academy are the foundation of culture in this city and province. This is just another of the pressure types of pressure to « summonize the mind ». The decision is catastrophic and it is completely politically motivated. The explanations of the Commission are pro-form, and they are not even correct. For example, for the « meeting of guitar students », explanation is that « we did not fully realize the previous project until the end, which is not true, all realized and documentation was properly delivered. But it doesn’t make sense to react, they decided to cut us and abolish us. Our production is huge and has an incredible impact on the wider community and that is now called into question – said Krajisnik.
The money did not receive other festivals, which were supported until this summer, such as Shakespeare Festival and the new children’s Forts, whose director and director of Sonja Petrović, passes through the public lynch of regime media for months, because he dared to criticize power. The projects of the Novi Sad Theater are neither considered due to « non-submission of reports from the previous year ».
No pairs for exit
Neither the exit festival was given on the provincial competition of music creativity. The Provincial Secretariat for Culture, as it writes in the explanation, recognizes the importance of the festival, but due to insufficient money « is not able to provide support. »
