Punished Strumica slaughterhouse for illegal discharge of animal blood
The Inspection Services of the Food and Veterinary Agency (CAA) conducted extraordinary inspection this morning after information on the social network Facebook was released yesterday that Strumica Slaughterhouse, through a tube, directly releases blood into the river.
Supervision, according to the CAA, has established that the operator acts contrary to the legal provisions for harmless removal of by-products (Article 18 of the Law on by-products of animal origin-Official Gazette of RSM No. 08-3248/1 of 14 June 2023).
– For offense committed – harmless removal and use of category 3 material – by -products of animal origin and products obtained from them, in accordance with the categorization of by -products of animal origin (Articles 11 and 14 of the law), the operator is fined 2,000 euros in denar counter -value, and the responsible person in the legal person in the legal entity. Consistent implementation of the legal procedures for removing by side products of animal origin 3 (animal blood slaughtered in a slaughterhouse that does not show signs of illness) – the statement said.
The CAA points out that blood as a by -product of slaughter animals (by -product 3), in accordance with the legal and bylaws that regulate this matter, should be removed by pre -separating and collecting in a special place.
