Published winners of the year, awarded bonus

« We have honored those whose work is often overlooked and the contribution is invaluable. It is no secret that the work of the medical staff is full of challenges. Kaunas can be proud of the real professionals who are constantly working for people. Welfare, ”said Kaunas City Mayor Visvaldas Matijošaitis.

This year, candidates for the medical staff of the year were delegated by the city health facilities and the Association. The proposals included various medical representatives working in Kaunas – from family physician and doctors to nursing, ambulance and public health professionals. Candidates were elected for three prestigious titles: « Doctor of the Year », « Nurse of the Year » and « Health Worker of the Year ».

Kaunas received a total of sixteen applications. A special commission formed the best medical staff last year recognized five winners:

• Doctor of the Year – Laima Geduškaitė, a medical doctor at Nursing and Supported Hospital, Grinius Nursing and Supporting Hospital;

• Physician of the Year – longtime manager and physician Daiva Pažėrienė, a longtime manager and doctor of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Clinic at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, Kaunas University of Health Sciences.

• Nurse of the Year – Ona Paškevičienė, Nurse of General Practice of Kaunas Clinics at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences Hospital;

• Sigrida Tautkevičienė, Catering Specialist of Kaunas City Municipality Public Health Bureau – Kaunas City Municipality Public Health Bureau;

• Health worker of the year – Vytautė Užaitė, Head of Kaunas City Outpatient Clinic Youth Center.

These individuals have been evaluated for their significant contribution to the development and implementation of Kaunas city health policy, practical and scientific activities, dissemination of experience and active participation in projects and social initiatives. Also for innovative and responsible work in health care institutions and Kaunas representation internationally or nationwide.

Kaunas can be proud of having real professionals who are constantly working for the benefit of people.

The city devotes its resources and invests in the infrastructure of hospitals, outpatient clinics, nursing institutions, but you do everything else. »

On the evening of April 29, the winners of Kaunas Town Hall were awarded the titles of the year and 3 thousand. EUR prize. During the celebration, medical staff who contribute to the health promotion of the townspeople were honored. Eleven health care institutions, which last year actively conducted immunoprophylaxis programs, strengthened preventive work and led on antimicrobial resistance.

Recognized as leaders of the year in the field of immunization: Oak Family Clinic, Vivat Vita, Rasos Klinika. Nominations for antimicrobial resistance management were won by Kaunas Clinic of Medicine of the Lithuanian Health Sciences Hospital, Aušros Medicinos Center and the company Diagnostic Laboratory – Antėja Clinic Savanorių pr. Division. Prevention programs are published as leaders of the implementation of the preventive programs: Saulės Family Medicinos Center, Health Circle and Žaliakalnio Outpatient Clinic and Health Projects.

Music works were donated to the medical community at the festive event by famous performers: soloist Marija Arutiunova, duo of Karina Krysko and Jeronimas Milius, Rosita Čivilytė, Česlovas Gabalis and Adam Vyšniauskas.
